The Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce is a Muslim minority academic institution in Pune, Maharashtra, India. It is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. It was established in the year 1970 by the Anjuman Khairul Islam trust, Mumbai a Philanthropic Charitable Trust dedicated to the noble cause of the orphans and the deprived. The principal aim of this trust is to propagate education among the poor and underprivileged sections of society. For this noble cause the trust is managing about 50 colleges, institutes and schools in various districts Maharashtra. The Trust is registered under Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976.
Poona College Of Arts Science and Commerce offers 33 courses across 5 streams namely Arts, Science, Performing Arts, Commerce and Banking, Management.Popular degrees offered at Poona College Of Arts Science And Commerce include BA, BSc, B.Com, BBA, MSc.The college has been accredited by NAAC and was awarded ‘A’ grade. The Poona College is also the first college in Pune to be selected by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi for the introduction of Computer Maintenance course at the degree level as a part of the UGC programs.
The College is a recognized Research Centre of the Savitribai Phule Pune University in Chemistry, Commerce, Economics and with full-fledged degree courses and Postgraduate Centres in Computer Science, Electronics, Organic Chemistry, Zoology, Economics.
