MITHIBAI COLLEGE OF ARTS, CHAUHAN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND AMRUTBEN JIVANLAL COLLEGE OF COMMERCE AND ECONOMICS
Mithibai College of Arts and Chauhan Institute of Science was established in1961 by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal to address the growing need for institutions of higher education in the western suburbs of Mumbai.Mithibai College of Arts is affiliated with Mumbai University. Mithibai College of Arts was ranked 13 for Arts, by India Today in 2022. The college was granted academic autonomy in the year 2018.
With growing demand, Amrutben Jivanlal College of Commerce & Economics was instituted in 1981. The college has been granted linguistic minority status for the Gujarati community.There are 16 Post Graduate programs and 10 Research Centres offering Ph.D. programmes. The college is a recipient of grants under RashtriyaUchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA-2), DBT and DST.
They offer MA in Economics, English, and Psychology, and a PhD in English. Admission into Mithibai College of Arts is on the basis of aggregate marks in the qualifying examination for both the UG and PG courses.
